This summer zipped by so fast and now it is September already! I am just going to recap some of the things that I can remember.

June is our busy month with 5 Birthdays. Mr. Lincoln turned 1, is walking and trying to talk...he is always telling us things and we have no idea exactly what they are but we know they are important. He is the sweetest little guy with a smile and dimples to die for. He makes us laugh!

Sydney turned 4!!! She has taken the training wheels off her bike and is doing really well. She has started school again this past week and was REALLY excited. She had a fun summer playing with the neighborhood kids, her parents took her on some really fun day trips to the lake and hiking for geocaches. She makes my day with all of her grown-up talk. She told me the other day that she wanted to go to Aunt Janet's to make a necklace for her mom...she said, "I am free on Tuesday next week...the other days I am busy, so you could ask Aunt Janet if we can come on Tuesday". What 4 year old says that they are free on any day?

Ivy is 4 and her and Syd play really well together. They are on the same page in life. She loves to be silly, make up stories at night, and she is really a good bike rider. I guess during the summer for swimming lessons they would ride their bikes to the pool every day...Alisa would have a bike trailer on her bike and Kaitlee and Ivy would ride along. She is one tough little girl! I love her big eyes and happy face when she tells me things. When she is not happy and I want her to get happy I always say...where are your sparkle eyes...she has the brightest blue eyes. Then she smiles and there they are!!

Reesie turned 3!!! She is at that really fun age where she still likes to sit on your lap and just tell you all kinds of things. She always has kisses for you and hugs. She was at my house and the boys across the street came over to see the dogs and visit. These boys are 15 and 16 years old and they were talking to Reesis and she didn't know what to think of them...she looked at me and said, "these nice boys and they not going to hurt me?" I said, Yes these are really nice boys and they are not going to hurt you...then she looked at them and said, 'yous nice boys and yous not going to hurt me." Then she got down and went off to play...you gotta love her.

Alisa and Marissa had birthdays also so we went for pedicures and lunch...shopping and had a fun day. I really enjoy the times we all get together. I just wish it was more often. I love them both and a very thankful for them in our family.

In July Scott and I got to go on TREK with our stake. We were over all the activities so it was a big job and Scott did most of the work. It was at the end of July, really hot, I made it and there was never a question about Scott...he's a trooper. I can't tell you how much I love him!! On the 16th we will have been married for 33 years...oohhh man that is a long time! But than look and see what we have...this wonderful family and grandchildren.

In August we all went on a family vacation together. We rented a cabin in Idaho and took our bikes, went on day trips to see Yellowstone Park, ate good food and enjoyed each other. This was really fun and I hope to make it something we do every year. The kids had fun taking turns riding in grandma and grandpa's car so we had 2 at a time together. I was really sad when it was time to come home...seeing each one every day was so fun. Another thing I enjoyed was see my boys being DADS. That is a blessing for a mother to see her boys taking care of his children, helping his wife. Jared and Jake are really good dad's and husbands, I am very proud of them for the job they are doing.

Well now it is September...fall is in the air and another huge birthday month. School has started and things are getting quite again. Beckett is getting really big and is so sweet...he still smells wonderful. He has such a big smile and loves to talk to you. He's not much on sleeping so I really feel sorry for Marissa but she is handling it all so well. Kaitlee is in 1st grade......she is so big and loves school. She told me her teacher was the nicest one in the whole school! She will be 7 on the 30th of this month...man...time flies. They all bring me such joy and I love them more than I can say in words. Scott and I just try to enjoy each day and pray that everyone is well and has what they need.

This has been such a cold and long spring!! A lot has happened so I'll get to it. On April 28th Jake and Marissa had their sweet new son Beckett Jacob Maxfield born. He was 8 lb, 12 oz and 21 inches long...big boy. All went well for Marissa and he came healthy and strong. Sydney loves her new brother and is such a big helper for Marissa, how ever the dog has been a bit jealous. The first few days he was not very happy that she had her arms full day and night. But all and all everything is wonderful! Syd is getting so big and has enjoyed all of her new friends in our neighborhood. She will be 4 in June!

Kaitlee and Ivy are in soccer this spring...Jared is coaching both teams. Kaitlee's team is getting a bit better and Ivy's is still (swarm ball) as my old boss used to call it. They both look so cute in their uniforms. Lincoln is crawling all over the place and will walk soon. He is such a happy little guy and his smile melts your hart. Reesie is just trying to keep up and she is so independent...sweet and stubborn all at the same time. She will be 3 in June and Lincoln will be 1 in June. They are all doing well and are health! They are all getting so big and I just hate how fast the days and weeks go by. They make my life so full and happy and I love them all so much.

Jake and Jared are working at Broken Arrow and Alisa and Marissa are at home with the kids. They are really good parents! Scott works very hard and tries to do what I tell him.

Spring??

MARCH! I can't decide if I hate March more than January? Both are not my favorite. Well I have been snowshoeing 4 or 5 time this year and have had a very fun time. I can't wait until we can go hiking again also. Scott and I went on a trip the end of January to Arizona and had a fun time in the sunshine. We went to see his sisters in Quartzsite and to Tucson for a few days and I really enjoyed that city. We were in the car a lot but had a good time.

The grand kids are all well and growing so fast that every time I see them they have changed. Last time I saw Lincoln he was crawling all over the place trying to keep up with the rest of them. Jared has built a really cool porch in his garage off his door to the house that will be totally awesome for his kids to put all their stuff so it's not in the house. Good job Jer! Ivy and Sydney spent the weekend together not to long ago and they crack me up...Scott and I laughed for 2 days. They live in this world of fantasy and real life that only 4 year old's could live in. One minuet they are moms taking care of all the babies and the next they are shining the monster light every where to get the monsters out of the house. Crazy! One thing I know for sure is that they are so fun and I enjoy them all so much that I can't imagine my life with out them! They are truly the joys of my life. Jake and Marissa are getting close to having the baby...the first week of May our sooner if you talk to Marissa. They are getting settled in their home down stairs...she has made it very cozy for them. Sydney had made if very clear that her house is downstairs and grandma's is up...when she leaves to go home she will say, bye grandma I am going home now. One day Marissa left and she left her down on the couch watching a show and it wasn't to long before she came up and said, I need to come up because nobody is home and I am all alone. I am grateful that they are able to be with us. Life is good and I know that I am blessed every day. Enjoy the spring and hopefully it will get warmer so we can go out and play.

YES...we made it to the end and now Jake and Marissa and Sydney are in there own place! It looks so beautiful and they are getting things put away. Sydney was sooo exited for her new room and she slept so good the 1st night. We will have some pictures soon. I just want to thank Scott for all he has done to make this all happen and his patience with all of us, mostly ME! This has been a huge project and we still have stuff to do but we can see the end of the tunnel.

This week is really special...it is Ivy's 4th Birthday on Tuesday!! We are going to her house after pre school for a party with all her friends and then it is out with Grandma for her date. I usually take them out to lunch and shopping but this year we'll go to an early dinner. They get to pick where we go so for about a month now she has been telling everyone that we are going to Applebee's. I think that it is so fun to take them on their own and have a date. Alisa gets them all dressed up for our dates so when I go to get them they are waiting for me all excited to go...it is so adorable.

I hope that everyone had a Happy New Year. We are not enjoying the smog that the new year brought to our valley. This is why I love to go snowshoeing...to get into the mountains and up above the smog layer and we are about ready to get at it. Every time I try to complain about the winter I get "the look" from Scott because he needs it to snow! So I try not to say much to him. Enjoy your week and get up to the sunshine!!

I just want to say that we had a wonderful Christmas with our family. The kids all enjoyed the present that they received. We were home for Sydney to open her gifts from Santa and than we went to Jared and Alisa's to see what the other kids received form Santa. This is something that we started last year...to go to their homes in the morning to see what they got and visit for a while. I have really enjoyed it! It seams to be a lot nicer to have them in their own place and play with all the things that they got and have them show us. We had our family dinner at our home Christmas night and this year we tried a new game called the "present pass". It was really fun! We enjoyed turkey dinner. I am so thankful for this time of year and our family, all the kids and the love we have for each other and the blessings that our Heavenly Father has given us once again this year. I hope that you all have a good New Year.

6 More Days!

I can't believe that their is only 6 more days until Christmas...we have been crazy around here. Today the frig, stove, microwave and the dishwasher are on their way to our new home in the basement. Okay Jake and Marissa's new home. We have picked out everything that their is to pick out and now we are just waiting for it all to arrive. The trim is almost done and it looks so good. I am excited for Christmas and having everyone home...that is my favorite part when we are all together. I hope you all will enjoy your weekend and Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Well November whizzed by and now here we are into December. We had a fun Thanksgiving with all the kids...Ivy came and sleep over with Sydney on Wed. and they all come for dinner on Thursday. We all enjoyed the good food and we took some pictures of the crew that were cute. I just have to say that they are growing up and they are at really fun ages now...they all have their own personality that are adorable. They make my heart happy! The basement is coming a long...we are down to the counter tops will come the first of the week and we need to finish the bathrooms, get the base boards on and the carpet!!! YEAH! It looks so wonderful and Jake, Marissa and Sydney are getting excited too. Life is wonderful and this is the best time of year...enjoy your families.

I don't know if it is my age or what but this year is zipping by so fast that I can't keep up. I went out to lunch with my sister-in-laws the other day and one of them said...your blog hasn't had anything new for awhile...so here we go.

I got to go to Disney World with Betty and we walked in a 10K race on the 11th of October. We had a really fun time visiting with her mom, sister, and brother who live in Orlando. We wandered around and didn't do a hole lot except we spent 2 days at the hospital visiting her sister who was in for some tests that should of taken maybe a day and it took 2. Well it was a good time to visit and all was well at the end. While we were there I got to see Wendy...yeah!! We went to the beach one day and she came with the boys to meet us and we enjoyed the afternoon together. We went to Wendy's for lunch to have our favorite lunch form the old days and some air conditioning...they were having record days of HEAT each day we were there. The day we left it was going to start cooling off, sure!

Than Halloween was next! It was so fun to see the kids enjoying the costumes and the candy. Jared and Alisa came in and went in the neighborhood with Sydney and than we had some dinner. Fun times. And now it's November!! Thanksgiving is coming soon and so is Christmas...hopefully we can get a picture of all of us for our Christmas letter. All of the kids are getting so big it is truly amazing. Enjoy the fall because the snow is coming SOON as Scott would say.

One more day and maybe the most important one in September...Kaitlee's Birthday!! She will be 6 years old! She is getting so grown up and has been enjoying school, learning a lot and playing hard everyday. She is a good big sister and helper for her mom...most of the time. This month has just zipped by faster than usual with all the birthdays and our anniversary. On September 16th Scott and I have been married for 32 years...wow...that is a really long time. Ever year we look at each other and say...that is a long time! But on the other hand it seams just like a few years ago. We haven't changed that much except in our old bodies and our gray hair, well Scott's gray hair! Time is a good thing and can also be not so helpful. We had a really fun family reunion in Torry at Linda's house riding 4 wheelers and eating and visiting with all of Scott's sisters. It was a fun weekend. Fall is almost here and I have had a fun summer hiking with Betty. We are going to keep on going and snowshoe in the winter. The pictures are awesome...enjoy them.

Life has been a bit crazy!!! You would think that moving last year that my house would be so clean and not have any junk in it...well not the case. When we moved we did it so fast that we took the junk and just move it from one house to another. Let just say for the record that most of it is Scott's junk! not a lie. Well Jake and Marissa have come to live in our home again and so we have HAD to de-junk. Scott has worked really hard to clean out the garage so we all can have our treasures out there. We are finishing the basement for them but it has a ways to go before they can live down in it. I asked Scott the other day after we went through a bunch of his boxes and I said, Doesn't this feel so good go get rid of all this stuff and he said...doesn't really bother me! So there you have it!
Kaitlee stated kindergarten last week and she is getting so grown up. Sydney went off to pre-school today all excited and Ivy is going to pre-school also. Sonrisa is getting potty trained and Lincoln is getting so strong and big...they are all growing so fast!

I know that I haven't been keeping up so well on the blog thing...but I need to change my picture and back ground and I am just not sure how to do it all. I have taken some pictures of all the hikes that Betty and I have been on this summer...and we have had a wonderful time each week going to a new place. We spend the day together hiking and visiting and eating out packed lunches or out after we are done. It has been a really fun summer in that way. Also, being the primary president has been a bit of a job and keeps me busy. I have also been watching Sydney for Marissa while she works some at the Library. We are starting to finish our basement so workers are going to start being here all day. Our neighborhood is all filled in except for 3 house and 2 lots. The people that have moved in are really nice and friendly with good kids and I am really enjoying our new home. The girls are growing so fast and are getting big, Kaitlee will start kindergarten in a few week, Ivy will be in pre-school, Sydney will be in pre-school also, they are growing fast. Sonrisa is 2 so does that tell you what she is up too. Lincoln is 10 weeks old already and getting big. Jared and Jake have been busy...they were in a 111 mile bike ride 2 weeks ago and finished!! They really did well. Today Jared was in a "Sprint" He had to swim, ride, and run...he did awesome! I just want to say that my life is busy but I enjoy every minute of it and as the new kid across the street told my today..."I don't want to be a suck up but you don't look like you are 50 years old!" He is 14 so what does he know anyway? I'm not getting a big head yet. Enjoy the rest of August and maybe by the middle of September my blog will look a bit better.

I just can't believe how fast the time goes by. We have been busy doing all kinds of thing that seam to take up a lot of time but I can't really say that they count for much. Can I just say I love not working!! It has been fun to see our little Lincoln grow! He was here yesterday and he is getting big...and his sisters LOVE him to death. It is so sweet to see them hold him and try to fit him in their laps...he still has the bobble-head going on. He is smiling a lot and staying awake more. We just had a sleep over with Kaitlee, Ivy, and Sydney. They had fun together and than in the morning we went to the movie...we wanted to see UP but some co. had bought that showing so we went to see Ice Age. They are so busy ALL the time! You can't believe how many times they take off their clothes to put on dress-ups and you never know who is going to come around the corner naked! It truly is so funny that I laugh most of the time we are together. I just keep thinking that soon it will all end and they won't have anything to do with the old people!
Our yard is done and it looks really nice. We have some trouble spots on the grass that we are dealing with but all that rain has been hard on the new yards around our neighborhood.
I hope that everyone had a good 4th of July and that the 24th will be fun also...Enjoy this summer because it it going fast.

June is a busy month for us in our family...we have 5 Birthdays to calibrate! With our new little Lincoln Scott Maxfield who was born on June 4, he will be the only boy in June and start thing off. Next is Marissa, Sydney, Reesie than Alisa. This month is just like our September. I want all of you to know how much I love and enjoy each one of you and the time we get to spend together. This past weekend we had Sydney with us for 3 days and Reesie and Ivy came for Friday night and then for Sat and Sun we had Sydney and Ivy. We had such a fun time! Grandpa took the girls shopping for a new dress and shoes, he put the tent up in the living room for them to sleep in and play. They played dress up all day long and I think that I must of put their clothes on them about 20 times during the day. They played so hard that on Sat night they both fell asleep around 7:45 on the couch. We went to church and they were so good in class for the teacher. Everyone thought that they were sisters! I just want to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you all and I love you.

Busy, Busy!

We have been so busy these past weeks working on our yard. We have been placing bark all around and we are realizing that our yard is VERY big! We have planted a lot of shrubs and plants and it is looking very beautiful. When the guys came to drop off the bark they put it on the side of our house between the empty house and our property...well in the mean time a man bought the unfinished house and has all this bark on his property, oops. When I told Scott where the bark was he was kinda mad!! I told him that the pile was HUGE and that there was no other place to put it. When he came home that night all he said to me was...you weren't kidding!! It's about 5 feet high and 40 feet long and 6 feet wide! So now you know what HUGE is. We have placed most of it and as we look around we think that we will use all of it. The new neighbor is really nice and he will not be putting in a yard until next summer, he needs to finish the house first so all was well with him.

Also, Alisa has been told by her Dr. to take it easy. She has been having pains and is dilated to 2 and has 5 weeks to go...so I have been helping her stay on the couch. She is board and is having a hard time trying not to do to much. It has been fun to be with the girls, they make me laugh and smile!

I am so glad for the beautiful weather we are having and am looking forward to the summer and all that comes with the nice days head. Hope you all have a good week!

Face Book?

Well, I have just signed up on face book! I was more curious about it than anything. I wanted to look at it. When you get on you have to sign up so I did. I am not so sure that I will us it a lot but it is fun to see all the people on it and kinda see what is going on in their lives. I still have questions so any of the Maxfield children you are on call!
Things have calmed down a bit around here. I am feeling better and have that peace that comes from our Heavenly Father. I know that all of mine and Scott siblings and many friends have called with their love for Marissa and Jake and Sydney. Thank you all for you prayers and loving words.
I am getting ready for the plants in our yard and some flowers. We got our bark all around in the front yard and it looks really nice. I am ready for sunny days!

Our Baby Will

This past week on April 21 Marissa and Jake had their baby Will Maxfield born to them. Unfortunately our Heavenly Father needed him right back and he only stayed a few hours with us. He was a strong little guy and we all have felt his spirit touch our hearts. Marissa and Jake are such great examples to us (me) with their strong testimonies of how our Heavenly Father has a plan for us even though we are not always ready for what he has for us to do. I am blessed to have such a wonderful family around me and to be close to my boys my daughters and grand children to see them often and to have that love that only comes from being together. Our prayers are with Marissa and Jake and Sydney that peace will be with them.

Weekend at Grandma's and Grandpa's

This past weekend we had a really fun time with the girlyfield's at our house. Jared and Alisa went to Idaho to a wedding for her cousin and the girls stayed overnight with us. Grandpa went and bought a 3 man tent for them and we set up in the living room! That was there play house and sleeping spot. They had more fun in that thing playing house, hiding from each other, reading stories and sleeping. It was kinda cold out so the riding bikes and playing on the neighbors play ground was not as long lived as they would of liked. Jake and Marissa, Sydney come over on Friday night to eat and all of them had a fun time playing. My mom and dad were hear until Saturday so they got to see our darling girls! I am so thankful that we live so close that we can enjoy them and kiss them often...it really was a fun weekend!

Ivy's Day with Grandma!

On Tuesday this week it was Ivy's day to spend with me all by herself! I went and got her at about 10:00 and when I walked into the house she got this huge smile and came running to be while saying "I'm ready to go with you Grandma". She was all dressed in this really cute outfit with her hair all done. We went to Target and shopped around...she got a new nightgown, flip flops, head band for her hair and most important "makeup" chap stick! Than we went to McDonald's for lunch and to play on the toys, than she wanted to go to my house and see the dogs and watch a movie. We took the dogs for a walk around the block. Than about 3:00 I asked her if it was time to go home and she said,"NO"! Well I packed her up and we headed towards home anyway. When we got to the Maverick in Stansbury I stop to get everyone a ICE and half way to her house she said, Grandma, I really don't want to go home! It made my heart hurt that I was making her go but she was happy to see her Mom and Dad and sisters. She gave them the things that we got for them from Target...they got head bands also. It was a fun day for me and we are going to do this more often with them all. They are so funny when they have your full attention and tell you crazy things that they have made up in their heads. When she come the next day while Jared and Alisa went to get a new vehicle, Ivy was talking about her "special day" that we had together...this is what makes life worth it...the sweet faces of 4 girls that call me Grandma!

Another Trip!

Scott and I were able to go for a little get away this past weekend! We flew to Las Vegas and rented a car and went down to see his sisters, Janet and Bonnie in Quartzsite Arizona. They spend the winter there every year. We went to Mexico for a few hours and got some stuff, and had a wonderful visit. Scott went to play golf one afternoon, the weather was high 70's to mid 80's. The car we rented was a Enclave by Buick and we have been thinking about getting one in the future and it was really nice...made us want it sooner! We went to see Hoover Dam, they are building a new bridge over it and that was really awesome! It isn't finished and the way that they do it was really interesting. We went down to the strip in Vegas and went to see the fountains at the Bellagio and they were really fun, beautiful and awesome! Also we went to Cesar's Palace and went through that mall...we must of walked 10 miles that day! We ate really good food and had a fun time together. I took the camera but of course the battery was dead!!!

I know that it has been forever!! Things are going along well. I just got home from a cruise...girl trip...and Scott was such a sport about it! thanks for taking care of the dogs and the house. He loves to cruise and so for me to go without him was hard for him, but he followed the ship on google earth and new where we were all the time...and I got to call home every night!! We had a fun time in the sun even thought some of the days were cooler and windy it was better than at home. January zipped by and I usually have such a hard time because this is a long month, but not this year. Maybe it is because I have my Primary job to keep me really busy...it is going along well, I'm getting the hang of it all and I have to say that the teachers are supper good to come every week and I have really wonderful counselors that help me ALOT! Huge blessing! Well hope you all have a Happy Valentine's Day!

I just want to say Merry Christmas to everyone!! We had a wonderful Christmas with the girls this year...Grandpa decide that they needed a IKEA kids table with chairs to eat and play on. It was a big hit they all loved it. We all got together for dinner on Christmas night for Prime Rib that Scott made and it was absolutely perfect! He can always make us good food! We went out in the mourning to each of the kids homes and saw some of the gifts that they got and played with them for a bit, this was my favorite part this year...they were in there jammies and playing with the things that Santa brought for them. We have had a lot of snow this year...we had to use the 4 wheel drive to get around for a few days...it is good that they are using a lot of salt on the roads for Broken Arrow! They have been busy with the orders. All in all things are going along well, we have been very happy in our new home and church callings are going along just fine! After church on Sunday I am so tired...Scott just laughs at me and shakes his head...I know what you mean! I had no idea. Happy New Year!

Thanksgiving

I just want to say that I am very thankful for this past week. It was kinda quiet but the kids did come over twice and the girls had some fun times! I just want my family to know that I love them VERY much and appreciate all that they are doing as fathers and mothers, sons and daughters. Scott and I went out to Jared's and Alisa's and cleaned up a bunch of junk in the basement, you know that construction stuff that is dusty...they have done a beautiful job with this new home...than Scott went out again and I put up Christmas!! It was really fun this year to find a place for all my stuff in our new home...it took me all day! I am so thankful for the things that I have but the most important is Scott and the kids...I love you all and I just want you to know that! Alisa don't forget to let me know when you are ready for the cleaning lady!

I know that I have been bad about this and it has been a month!!! We have been busy with all kinds of STUFF! You know the kind that you are busy but you can't really say with what...ya that stuff. We both have new callings in our new ward...Scott teaches the high Priest lesson on the 4 Sunday and I am the new Primary President!!! Oh ya, I haven't been in primary for over 20 years, I have no clue what it is all about I have never been the president of anything in my life and I know no one to pick for counselors...are you feeling my pain? Well this is when my faith comes in handy and let me just say that I have been busy using it. I just finished a quilt that Betty and I did for the troops, it is red, white and blue and turned out really nice. She has a bunch of extra material so I cut and sowed and she quilted it and we will make some more after Christmas. Well tonight is Halloween so I'll get to see the girls in their cute costumes...Alisa made Kaitlee and Ivy princesses dresses and they are really beautiful. She did a really good job! I'll have pictures soon. Can you believe that it is November already...my life is going by so fast these days!

We did it...everyone in September has had their birthday so we celebrated on Sunday! We had dinner and cake and all the girls played dress up, we went for a walk around the block in the wagon and played on the grass in the front yard. It was a really fun evening. On Thursday Kaitlee and I went shopping for some new clothes and out to lunch/dinner...she stayed and played and went over to the neighbors house and joined the birthday party that had a bounce house with all the kids from my neighborhood. Than she stayed over night. We had a really fun time. On Saturday we all got together for "family pictures" at memory grove. it was really good to get this done because I have wanted this for over a year...it got hot and we were in clothes that were for 60 degrees not 80. We went to eat all together and had a fun time also. I has been a busy weekend and fun to see the girls every day. I got some cute pictures so sit and enjoy.

Happy Anniversary

So this week on Tuesday was Scott and mine anniversary!! We have been married for 31 years...man that is a long time! I just want to say that these past years have gone by so fast and all the things that we have been able to do have really been fun and huge blessings in our lives. I love you Scott for putting up with me all this time and making our life full and providing for the boys and me. You are the best! The house is coming along...I went and picked out trees and shrubs this week and they should come in about 10 days or so. I hope you enjoy the pictures!

I know that I don't have any pictures of the "grass" BUT they are coming...I'm waiting until the curbing is all in! It is really starting to look like a home. I got the dog door in yesterday and now my life just got 100% better. The dogs aren't quite sure about it though because it is different from the old one and kinda hard to push because it is new. I'm not opening the door for them so they will have to get used to it. Scott has been happy and busy with all his free time and I think that we are enjoying all the time together...you may want to ask him though. He is really excited about football this year because he can go to all the games...and watch it on TV also. Jared had his 29th birthday on the 2nd and Jake's is next week!! this is when I feel like my world is going so fast. Life is good and all is well this week...see ya!

So the grass came and I did take some pictures of the yard and they will be posted soon. Everything is looking so good! I haven't taken the dogs across the street for over a week now to "use" the grass......we put up a fence that is not permanent but will keep the dogs in until that day comes to have one around the whole yard. We are all done in our old ward and stake so now we can go to our new ward and start that learning new names thing. should be fun! Now that September is here we will be busy with all the birthdays. Jared, Jacob, Kaitlee and Scott and than our Anniversary, 31 years!!! I cant even tell you where the time has gone. I am feeling old thinking that is wasn't that long ago we were in the middle of our kids and now we are in the middle, okay starting of our grandchildren and what a joy they are to us. I am so glad that I made it through the hard part to have all this fun with the girls in my life...Yes, that means Alisa and Marissa also! life is good!

This has been another good week...we got all the landscaping done, the rocks placed, it actually looks like a yard now. the grass is coming Monday and they should start laying the sod in the afternoon!!!! Not to keep complaining but we still need the dog door and the FENCE. the list IS getting shorter. I know that I haven't taken any pictures so I'll do that when it is all beautiful. Some of our friends have come by and it is fun to see them. So please if you come this way stop in. Thank you to everyone who has helped with all of this, we really appreciate it.

This last week has been a very eventful one...we got our sprinkler system in, the entertainment center was installed on Thursday, the office is all done and put away and I have got most of the box's put away "finely". I have much more floor to vacuum now. It has been really nice to hang the pictures and make it look like we live here. I am excited to get the landscaping done so the dogs can have a place of there own to take care of business and maybe get a fence before to long. Things are looking up and all is well at the Maxfields

I know that living without certain things that you are use to can be a good or bad thing, but this no yard, 2 dogs, no dog door stuff is down right the pits!!! My life is going across the street to the one house in our cove that has a yard with the dogs at least 2 times a day. The house is empty and up for sale and the owner has told us that we can "use" the grass for the dogs. We are extra good about cleaning up the messes that happen. Take Baxter for instants...he loves the grass and he moves very slowly especially in the summer when it is HOT! so getting him to come home when I want him to is almost impossible without a TREAT involved. One night he had decided that he wasn't coming at all and sat down and looked at me like,"WHAT' I'm not moving for awhile. Jazz is the good one that stays up with me, that is because she is nosey and want to know everything as it happens. The 2 little girls next door like to come out and play with them and that helps me get the dogs home sometimes because they want to be with the girls. Scott says "soon" we'll have a yard, but until then, Marissa sorry! I know that this is a small moment in the big picture but some of us have no patience. Yes, that would be me!

Busy summer

I can't believe that it is July already! My how the time flies when you are going through junk, planning a yard, trying to keep up with all the summer fun. I know that this week is girls camp and Scott is going to go and talk on Friday night. He has been busy with church and a lot of weddings, missionary's coming and going. We are getting settled in our new home and it feels more like ours every day. Some of the things about it are so wonderful like, the door off the garage that we use to come in (love it) the view out the front window is very beautiful of the mountains of Snowbird, my oven that is new and bakes my chocolate cake perfect and the wonderful dishwasher.We have a really cute neighbor that has 3 little girls and they love the dogs so when I am out walking them they love to come along. I really miss the old house and the comfort that I had in our ward but I know that I can see the people that I love, just not on Sunday. that is the hard part for me! We'll I have some more pictures of the cute faces in my life...

June is a busy month just like September is in our family...Marissa starts us out with her birthday first than Sydney, Sonrisa and Alisa is the last on the 26th of the month. We had a family dinner on Sunday to celebrate all of them. We had fun getting together and eating, laughing and my favorite is watching the girls play together. Grandpa got the girls some hot wheels to ride down in our huge basement that isn't finished. I think that they had fun...we also took them out side and my favorite was when Jared got on one and rode it down the driveway...my camera was out of battery's at that moment...it was funny. I really don't know how to start...Yes, we have moved to South Jordan and Jake and Marissa have bought our home. This was not something that we had planed to do it just happened. I am so thankful to Jake and Marissa for wanting our home, for making it their home...it is so cute the way she has it fixed up. Sydney was a bit confused for a week or so until she come down to grandma's and saw all our stuff...she keep asking Marissa "our new house?" we would say "Yes" and she would look at me and was all mixed up. Well that is done and I have my computer hooked up again. I'll get pictures of the Birthday Girls for the month, we have Marissa, Sydney, Sonrisa and Alisa!!!

We had such a wonderful Mothers Day!! We were all together, watched the Jazz game and they won!! We had dinner and the men cooked hamburgers, salad, chips and lots of pickle dip...and cookie dough to top it all off. It was perfect weather to be out side and it wasn't to hot or sunny. The girls played on this old slide that I got from a neighbour that she was getting rid of...they loved it and it keep them busy all afternoon. Harley came also and keep Jazz busy and made her tired, witch is nice. Thank you all for your good thoughts and gifts...I love all of you! Mom

INSPIRATION

Wednesday of this past week the girls and I went on another adventure up to the mountains. While we were getting ready, putting all the stuff on that you need to keep warm (this time we needed it all) we saw some older woman. They were all putting on the stuff that you need to keep warm and we didn't think much of it. We went on our way. We were at Solitude and got to start at the bottom this time...the road that is always groomed to the cross country skiers was the only thing to walk on, I was so excited, big road...walking side by side, talking so that you could hear everyone this was the life. Betty and Patty both have had foot surgery last month so we were taking it easy so they didn't do to much their first time back. All of a sudden these woman all in a row came up behind us...we looked at them...they were all over 60 years old...one of them was 80 and had just had some heart surgery!!! Well we went on our way because they had to go back on check on Nancy who was the 80 year old. On our way back we ran into them again...all was well with Nancy. Well we had the feet girls and they were getting tired so turned back and headed down the mountain. They said, did you make it all the way to Brighton? We said, No we needed to head back because of Betty and Patty's feet were sore and we didn't want them to do too much. They looked at us like we were nuts! They told us that they did this 2 times a week and hiked in the summer, road bikes out by Salt Air...now we all know that if we stick together we will be them one day.Well I asked if I could take their picture and here you have it. After we got down all of us brought food and had a yummy lunch, freezing out on the tables that were at one of the restaurant at Solitude. Than we went to Betty's house and sat in her hot tub to warm up. I am so thankful for these woman who have got me out of my box.

Master's week is over and Trevor Immelman from South Africa won. Having visited and played at Augusta National, the guys that actually play in the Master's, really are masters of the game. The photo is a picture taken in the clubhouse where the trophy is displayed. The guy in the green jacket is a member and was our host. My cousin, Ray Johnson, does business with him and thats how I was able to receive an invitation to visit Augusta. At the judgment bar, if I have merited any kind of reward, I plan on asking the Lord for just a few acres of beautiful rolling countryside near the Augusta River on the Georgia-South Carolina border. I'll promise to take especial care for it! The real reason for the post is to express my appreciation for the arrival of spring. The beauties of nature and the emotional lift we receive by seeing winter and it's cold pass into the warmth and pleasantries of a new spring. (Plus, I can play golf again! That's the real reason I like spring!)

Simple Pleasures Tag!

The number 1 thing that I need in my life is a vacuum.......see the cute dogs in this picture...yes they have a lot of hair and I vacuum at least 5 times a week!

Sweat pants...I wear these at home because of all the hair and spit that is around me at all times, don't get me wrong...I LOVE our dogs but when I come home I just change so I don't have to care if I get loved or not.

Microfiber cloths...I love these things...they clean everything!! I even have a mop that is microfiber for my wood floors.

I love my tempur pillow that helps my neck...when I don't use it I can really tell.

Now I know that I am old when I tell people that I still iron our cloths...well I do...I have a wonderful steam iron that I use...I do all of Scott's white shirts for him (because he didn't like the way the cleaners did them).

All of these things that I put down make my life so much better than before, I didn't always have the best stuff like I do now. That is the best part of life...everything gets better and better.

Okay!! Hear goes...Well 10 years ago Jared was a senior in High School at Taylorsville and Jake was a sophomore. All I was worried about was how many baseball games we had each week, where they were at and how much food we had at home. Also, I worried about the time when fall would come and Jared would turn 19 years old and leave on a Mission...every time I thought about it I would cry and feel sad for me and proud of him. Jake was just starting his high school career and it all was so fun for him...he got into Drama, and that was really fun for him...Baseball, it was all he new up to that point. I enjoyed all the craziness and we all got along! Life moved very quickly after that...Jared went to the Dominican Republic, Santo Domingo East Mission and left in the middle of September. About a year later Scott was made the Bishop and It was just Jake and I after that. Not long after that in November Jake started to date Marissa. I remember one night when Scott came home from church Marissa was at our house and they hadn't been dating that long and Scott said, I really like her the best so far! and I said, that I did too!!! We are so grateful that she came into our life.

5 Jobs that I have had:
The very first job that I had was when I was 16 years old and I worked as a maid at one of the Red Lion places in Missoula Montana...the 2 job was at the Red Lion Banquet rooms at the Edge Water Restaurant and Convention Center in Missoula. I was one of the waitress that worked with large group of people...we did parties for all kinds of things such as Weddings, Business meetings. It was fun and I made alto of money! Next when we moved to Wyoming after I was married the Branch Pres. was a dentist and asked me if I was interested in learning to be a dental assistant? Well you all know the answer to that ? was Yes! I have worked for Dr. William K. Hansen, Dr. Jon Manwaring and Dr. Scott Ferguson.

when I was a young girl I used to play Mommy all the time and my aunt Norma had size 4 shoes so we would play with her" heal-hiles" is what I would call them. Dress up and Dolls!
When I was in High School I had to move from Spokane Washington to Missoula Montana and I hated it. The only good thing was I got to get my drivers license when I was 15 years old.
I had a 1968 Mustang in high school!
I loved to dance before Scott!
I used to get a really dark tan every summer! loved the water!

I just want to say Thanks to Marissa for helping me with the up date on my blog...I am so not up on all this cool computer stuff. We just had a fun "Easter Saturday" with the whole family...even the dogs...they had a fun time together also. This past few weeks have been full of lots of fun things! The girlyfields were sick this past week and I went and got Ivy one day and we had an afternoon all to our self and it was so fun. I didn't get any pictures but she played with the dogs, we watched Nemo together and fixed grandpa dinner. It was really fun for me. Broken Arrow had the annual Easter Egg Hunt...I wasn't able to go this year because I went to Spanish Fork to help Janet with a show she had, so Grandpa Scott went with the girls and these pictures show it all...

Ready for Spring!!!

Finally it is March...can I just say that I have had quite enough of winter, snow, cold. I'm hoping that we will have more sunny days than snow this month. I did go snowshoeing on Thursday and It was really beautiful up at Brighton. I have some pictures and as soon as I know how to put them on our blog I will. We didn't have to wear gloves or hats and the snow was starting to get a bit soft, but still very beautiful.

Scott and Lee put a new roof on the garage this week and it looks very nice...good job Scott!

Girls and Showshoes

This is a strech for me to have other people read things that I have written. I'm not so good with words. Thank you Scott for all your love all of these years, you are the best part of life. I love you forever.

I have loved all the new woman that have come into my life in the last 6 years...and the small ones are so fun for me. I just love all the girly stuff that comes with them. I have met a new group of women at the water arobics class that I go to, they are very fun active women. We are all about the some age. In January, 5 of us went snowshoeing...well, I didn't want to go so much but Betty (my long time friend) said, YES you are. We went and I had the very best day of the winter so far. That next week we went out and I got my own snowshoes and new boots. We went up to Brighton and shoed down to Solitude on Thursday...another wonderful day in the snow... now if you know me at all, I hate snow, cold, winter, and what ever else comes along with cold weather. This is the new me and we are planning to go once a week until the snow is gone. Thanks to Sharon and Betty for pushing me along! I think that I'll make it.

Happy Valentine's Day My Pearl

This first post is blatantly personal. Scott has chosen to establish this blog as a Valentines Day gift to Lynn. Those of you who know us may be wondering why the name of "Jerri & Dalmas" for our family blog. When we were married almost 31 years ago in the Idaho Falls temple Lynn was living in Montana and I was from Utah. Both of us happen to go by our middle names. When we recived wedding gifts we knew immediately whether the gift came from someone that knew Lynn because the card would be addressed to "Dalmas and Lynn" but if the gift was from someone who knew Scott it would be addressed to "Scott and Jerri". Hence, our inside joke is that when we received a few gifts addressed to "Jerri and Dalmas" we knew that the givers really didn't know us! We accepted the gifts anyway. Right?

Lynn, I love you and cherish our friendship. You are my best friend. I was so fortunate to find you and, for the brief period of our courting, act in a manner that won your heart. The fact that you said yes, still makes me shake my head in amazement. Was I lucky or what! I guess it can be said "so I got that going for me, which is nice".

As we grow old and our brains fill up with so much stuff that they overflow down into our middle-aged bodies, know this; I still love calling you "babe". I mean it, every time I say it. Oh, and you still are my pearl. Loves, hugs and kisses.
